Travis CI is a hosted continuous integration service used to build and test software projects hosted on Github and Bitbucket. Travis CI provided services to Open-source projects for free.

Travis CI enables teams to test and ship apps with confidence. You can easily sync your projects with Travis CI. Travis CI automatically detects when a commit is made and pushed to the GitHub repository that is using Travis CI, and each time this happens, it will try to build the project and run tests.

Continuos Integration (CI)

Continuous Integration is the practice of merging in small code changes frequently rather than merging in a large change at the end of a software development cycle.

The goal of CI is to build healthier software by developing and testing in smaller increments. When you run a build Travis CI clones your GitHub repository into a brand new virtual environment and carries out a series of tasks to build and test your code. If one or more builds fail, it is considered broken. If non of the tasks fail the process is considered passed.
